"The Line Fence Riders" is a familiar winter scene on the American range and was captured by Frederick Remington, so I did my own in pastels. Riding the fence line was a lonely job and usually was a job delegated to one man as most ranches laid off their cowboys in the winter time. If the spread was big or the rancher wealthy he just might put two riders in the line shack for the winter. This work is a oil pastel and pencil pastel drawing on blue acid free paper. 9 x 12" is matted and in an 11 x 14" gold colored frame.
