HOPE
My latest piece is my struggle for hope before I go into hospital this week for lung cancer surgery on my right lung. Less than a year and a half ago I had the same surgery on my left lung. The Hero, Dr. Compeau, my surgeon, has been re- dubbed the Dragon Slayer. Well, if things didn’t work out maybe he would give me a mermaid‘s tail and gills. Then I could live in Atlantis, in the beautiful, luxurious underwater hotel, Le Mirage. No, Dr. Compeau certainly did not agree. He carried on by killing the dragon, reversing my tail and purging my right lung of any trace of the dragon’s poisonous cells.
