"soul pain I", Impressions of the soul, 1991, Acrylic on paper. "The painter lights a candle in the darkness of her soul" "Impressions of the soul"
Again and again during lifetime one finds himself in times of trouble and defeat. The painter saves herself, lights a candle in the darkness of her soul and illuminates the chaotic and threatening situation around her with her colors and figures. Impaled by splinters of broken glass creatures try to straighten up again. These painting are of symbolic character and therefore are self-explaining. They leave the impression of a safeness put into question. The unexpected might arise anytime again from these chaotic abysses but for the time being the harmony is reestablished, color and form recover again from dissonance to harmony.
