Sculpture
For me it's the ultimate challenge to create original and unique artwork out of natural stone. It's some kind of magic, how every piece of rock contains its own "biggest possible" sculpture inside, you 'just' have to remove the rest of the stone, the material which you don't need for your sculpture! I make abstract and figurative sculptures out of Belgian and Irish blue stone, French limestone, Belgian black marble 'Noir de Mazy' and basalt. I mostly start sculpting directly without any models or drawings, this method is called 'taille-directe' method. I made some female nudes, flowers, garden statues, a celtic inspired relief, trible heads, abstracts, fantasy creatures like a dragon, etc. Recently I 've been carving some smaller pieces, as well as a series of stone pendants.
