George Cabig - Rooted Images
Digital Art, Fashion, Photography
In my images, I seek to—all at once—discover and depict the spiritual essence of the elements that make up nature's beauty. My methods are varied, but the result represents the culmination and climax of having tapped into a higher, albeit elusive source through intuition, experimentation, and sometimes, just plain luck. Initial image capture is only the first step in the process of reviewing, and postulating about, the possibilities of the moment. Sometimes the image needs to lie and take shape in my deep unconscious before the vision is finally revealed. The camera becomes the tool of expression that enables me to explore, translate and articulate my personal aesthetic, producing a feeling of peace and comfort through this human act of creation. Photography equipment becomes the extension of my being that breathes life to this creation, just as a brush is to a painter. Once captured, my images constitute what to me is a special world. Without a vision, however, there is nothing. My photography allows me to portray the beauty that I see and perceive in the world. With it, I am able to convey my love of, and reverence for, all life. As I take my journey through my life, sometimes it feels like I am walking over rocks and stones, but... when I take another look and reflect, I see instead the wondrous patterns in my existence, and the challenging yet fulfilling paths and directions that bear the imprints of my footsteps. I am reminded that, although my feet are firmly rooted on the ground, my soul remains free to meander through thoughts, and to express its creativity through myriad shapes and colors.
