A sculpture in polished steel mounted on polished granite. The "Cerf Volant" is the flying caribou and represents the diminishing herds of Labrador, herds that have roamed the lichen covered plains of the big land for thousands of years. 30 years ago the herd count was 800.000, today the count is at the most 80.000! What provoked this decimation? The sculpture will slowly rust to a deep red whereupon I will seize the rusting process with a varnish. Let's hope the diminuation of our dear tuttuk can also be arrested.
