We call each other half- or step- brother and sister, because our parents brought us to Australia, by migrating, in 1956, when she was 6 and I was 12. The two families settled into life in Australia by first sharing an old house and later moving to apartments / home units, next to each other. Both only children, it was like being brother and sister from the mid-fifties till the mid-sixties.
