fingering is an interactive video installation where audience is tracked by a video character, which holds a “finger-gun”. She will “fire” at the audience if they stay still and center of the aim zone. Nobody is hurt in the end but herself. The installation stages viewers to manipulate their physical presence, which “kills”.

Responding to the last shot of an early cinema marvel, “Great Train Robbery”, where a western cowboy fires full-frontally at the camera (us, the viewers) with a handgun, a fatal kung-fu move from Hong Kong action films, an index finger, absurdly echoes the gesture of violence. The finger-gun responsively tracks the audience. The resulting visual and audio effects relate the corporeal and the virtual experience in digital technology.
