"Blue Male" is a reflection on human vulnerability at the time of "electronically assisted living" and on how our stage of semi-robotisation is endangering the planet.
The blue male figure is supported and raising from the green female figure who is the root and the source. A smaller male figure emerges from the female figure and a smaller female figure from the chest of the male, alluding to the gender ambiguity/duality I feel we all have. Moreover, the female figure on the male's chest is broken and bleeding, which from my perspective alludes to the way men often wound their female side. The skull in between the man and the woman evokes our mortality and vulnerability and what seems to spill from it, is the damage/violation to mother nature, also represented by the green female figure. The two cut-outs figures on each side of the blue male, are the semi-robotised and disconnected humans we are in danger of becoming.
