The title 'Shortwave Crackle' and work, itself are inspired by my first impression of listening to the recording archive of messages from Numbers Station...strings of numbers, phonetic letters and sometimes amplitude modulated tones are transmitted by government agencies to communicate with their deployed agents in foreign countries. There is the wonderful collection of these recordings called the Conet Project.
