Notes on artwork: “Heaven” shows at first sight, obviously, a woman standing somewhere outside. The sun is shining from above. She seems calm and in peace with herself. But her face and head seem to be not that of a human person. Her face being more that of an animal, a monkey perhaps, or does it look more like a skull? Somehow her hair also resembles a halo. I kept thinking of Jesus while creating this piece. A female Jesus? In my eyes it brings together a lot of different topics like death and life, peace, religion and disturbance all crowned with femininity.
