Am image in my Rothko stripper series. I made many Rothko style paintings in the past as i was quite a fan of Rothko's big abstract minimalist paintings, one reason being the colour and technique of the painting. I enjoy oil painting, although I only wish I could afford to do it! A rich man's hobby it seems. I decided to 'fuse' my photographic images with the Rothko paintings images to create interesting digital 'painterly' images. I was very pleased with the result and the series made way for the layering techniques I now use in my Photographic montages. I now paint watercolours and find ways to combine the paintings with the photographs and I envisage I shall continue working in this way through my new sci-fi series!
