THIERRY BRUET - LE PRINCE CARLIN
Skulptur
Biography Thierry BRUET
Born in Paris in 1949, has painted and sculpted for over 35 years. His grand canvases shaped by a consciously
classical slant and executed with traditional oil techniques, are witty, satirical and replete with carefully
observed details. One side of him tends towards caricature and the grotesque, the other towards elegance
and refinement.
Bruet exhibitions have been sponsored by the French Ministry of Culture at the Thiers Museum in Metz, by the
Institut de France in Paris and by the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, but the artist has put on other shows
of his own in Paris, Luxembourg, London, Vancouver and Ibiza. He was also featured at the Paris Art Fair in
2012 and 2013 and is taking part in SH Contemporary 2014 in Shanghai.
Works by Bruet have been commissioned by great French decorators such as Alberto Pinto, Frédéric
Méchiche and Pierre-Yves Rochon. Many others can be found in collections around the world, as well as in famous
luxury hotels like the George V, the Bristol and the Shangri-la in Paris and the Chalet du Mont d’Arbois
in Megéve, in Hermés stores in Paris and in the Four Seasons hotels in Alexandria, Florence and London.
