Creating art is - for me - a true give and take between what I attempt to do and what the evolving piece makes me do. Often, when I try to push the art in one direction, it responds differently and makes me take it in another. The art itself surprises me, and it directs me into the area it wants to be taken, rather than accepting what I try to make it do. And so I let myself go and the art takes over and the evolution excites, surprises and amazes me. Unless I've decided to do another image in a series, I don't know when I sit down to create a work what the end result will be. I simply start, let my imagination fly, seek and experiment, and the artwork comes into life on its own. It literally directs me down the path to completion. And it is a path filled with wonderment and possibilities!

I've been an art lover for longer than I care to remember and my appreciation continues to grow. I participate in several art guilds, am on the board of one, support my local museum, and love creating unusual and unexpected works of art. I enjoy oil painting and digital art; two mediums that are far apart - but both that bring me pleasure. I have certain preferences in art, but I choose not to limit myself and I enjoy art in a wide variety of forms and mediums.
