Traditional art schooling in Russia, studio work in St Petersburg, a few workshops, a few years at The Glassell School of Art in Houston, and continuous practice of drawing life.

...I am inspired by living things, especially the human body. I rely on regular practice of drawing nude models for learning. Every session is a tap into unknown, a meditation and labor to reveal grace. I am conscious of the air blanketing objects, moving with breath, resting against surface. A sense of place may be evasive, a fleeting memory.

My canvas is an open door that lures me in, my pursuit of happiness. As an old-medium painter, I stay amazed by the potency of oil paint. Oil on canvas, charcoal and dozens of brushes, pallet knives, rugs and scraping tools are my dear companions...
