Oleg Korchagin
Oleg Korchagin was born in 1961 in Kirov, Russia. In 1986 he graduated from the Belarusian Art Academy. He is one of the founders of the art group “Gildiya Krasivyh” (Sochi, Russia). In 1997 Oleg Korchagin became a member of the Russian Artists’ Union. Oleg lives and works in Sochi, Russia.
"In three words Oleg Korchagin's artistic strategy can be characterized as narration, plasticity and feelings. All thiese categories are present in his works, as well as a number of other conceptual definitions: proportionality, hidden decorativeness, provincialism, anti-avant-gardism, brutality, everydayness, absence of political correctness, eroticism, dispelling the myth about the world as a strict logical structure. The artist does not emphasize the details, hence the canvases are perceived as a whole, integral image.
