Noel Hodnett was born in Zimbabwe (then Southern Rhodesia) in 1949. After studying Fine Art at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa (1969-1971) Hodnett was appointed Head of Photography (1975) and later Head of Painting and Drawing (1985) at Rhodes. In 1997 he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he operates a highly successful contemporary fine art studio and gallery.
