Mine AKIN
IDGSA Sculpture: Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University , BFA 1991 Mine H.Akin was born in Tarsus in 1964.She majored in Sculpture under the guidance of Prof.Tamer Basoglu and Prof.Huseyin Gezer at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (Istanbul State Fine Arts Academy) Department of Sculpture. Mrs.Akin has concurrently majored than newly opened sub-department of "Jewelery Design and Implementation" within the Department of Sculpture. Especially concentrating on "Sculpture as Jewelery".
Mine H. Akin has spent the summer of 1985 inSalzburg, Austria (Internationale Sommerakademie Für Bildende Kunst) as the beneficiary of an Austrian Government scholarship given to few fine arts students across the world. She was taught by Prof.E.R.Nele while she was in Salzburg.
Bronze and Silver are Mrs.Akin's main choices of material to work with and she creates her sculptures out of bronze and her jewelery out of silver. She produces and works on her art work at her atelier, in İstanbul.
Mine Akin's bronze casted sculptures are made of using the lost wax process and produced In series of 6 copies + 2 for artist.
She gives private workshop classes in her atelier.
