Stefan Fransson

I do believe in the visual language.

Clouds,fire,reflections in the water,shapes of rocks,human figure and plants,are things that I study.

Inside of those things there are rhythms ,and complex, unpredictable patterns.

Those patterns are perhaps caused ,by the abstract wind.

The artificial compositions of Stefan Fransson seem to be comprising more than only the known dimensions of time and space. They show a complexity beyond the ordinary optical experience. An undefined vastness pervades these picture-worlds which seem to be lying in an infinity barely comprehensible with our senses. It is impossible to identify a beginning and an ending. These are complex arrangements, in which Fransson composes endless layers of pictoral fragments like collages on top and underneath each other translucent diaphane-like. It’s almost as if these worlds would be weightless - floating.

Some elements appear to be familiar, like flashes of memories, mingling with others. Other elements stay strange in their abstraction.
In the light of these suggestive permeations of picure elements, Franssons worlds breach paradigms in which linear fabrics of cause and effect are represented. Much more in his compositions, natural scientific and philosophical questions in which associations of networking are a basic principle are hinted. By this Stefan Fransson seems to succeed in building bridges between art and science, because his worlds seem to implement these theories visually.

Have done ,a number of artistic commission works for hospitals and schools,in the Stockholm area.

Commission works:

Commission work for the entrance, at the new Google center in Stockholm.

A big print of my work 'Thin Ice', that is a theme for a permanent installation.

My first commision ,from a purshaser outside my own country.

15 mobile sculptures for examination rooms in hospitals.Mainly in the Stockholm area.

Commission for an entrance at the Södertälje hospital.A painting in 3 parts.

Comminssion work for a staircase at the entrance of Alviks school.A composition of a number of mobile sculptures.

Comission work for a special place at the Danderyd hospital.A big mobile in 3 parts.

I spent a year in the Hadeland glassfactory in Norway.I did some design for glass.

I am now working as a teacher in figurative drawing,at the Swedish school of art.I have been doing that since 1991.
