I have always been more inclined to describe what I feel through my art, rather than replicating what I see in real life. My art therefore, acts as a channel through which my feelings are documented hence, my style of execution leans towards a surreal feel complimented by intricate line work. In addition, human figures are prominent in my works as they are used to describe particular experiences indigenous to my life; this influence furthers the effectiveness of my work. The root of my work attempts to capture the feelings I experience and then convert them into lines that will effectively describe them, thus exploring the details that build up those feelings. This is transmitted through the use of watercolor and pen & ink. The watercolor helps to create a particular mood while the pen & ink describes the experiences. I realize that with this combination I can manipulate them to my advantage thus creating what I deem to be the essence of me. The bulk of my work is inspired by life experiences however my current works are inspired by my relationship and the feelings and emotions are voiced through my artwork. In this new collection, I explore the different aspects of my relationship, both positive and negative aspects including differences and compromises discovered throughout the relationship.
