I’m not a writer, nor do I have any great gift of intellect or wit. I simply wish to be an excellent artist and painter. Which, to me sounds like it should be simple. I have also made the personal choice to believe in Jesus Christ. I used to think everyone knew what that meant. Perhaps I should clarify.
Dave’s Statement of Faith
•I believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is the inspired, inerrant, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
•I believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
•I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to this earth in power and glory.
•I believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
•I believe that the only means of being cleansed of sin and receiving the free gift of eternal life is through repentance and faith in the precious shed blood of Jesus Christ and accepting Him as Personal Savior and Lord.
Dave’s Artist Statement
I’ve been told an artist needs to have an “Artists Statement”. If I were to make a statement that explains clearly what my art is about. It would have to include that my creating is part of a desire to worship and praise my God. My inspiration comes from walking with “Him”, hearing His word, observing His creation, and listening to the Holy Spirit. God has blessed me with a keen desire to work with my mind and hands. I desire to entice my audience to look to God. To wonder about Him, desire Him, listen to Him and even speak to Him. As an artist, contemplating God is an endless source of inspiration. I sincerely believe it is possible to have a personal relationship with the God who created all things. Sounds absolutely preposterous doesn’t it?
I believe it’s possible because I have first hand experience. (Thanks to what Jesus has already done.) A relationship with God is a pretty amazing thing.
