Sandra Henny, born in Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal in 1979.
Moved to Lausanne, Switzerland in 1995.

ARTIST STATEMENT

SCANDALOUS GILT is born from a wish to exploit the ancestral techniques of gilding to create unusual objects.

After obtaining a federal certificate of gilder in 1999 then 9 years spent in several workshops, the freedom of expression and the desire of originality finally were essential.

The objective of SCANDALOUS GILT is to propose completely unique objects.

The base of creation is bargain-hunt, carefully selected, transform with noble materials, possibly carved, inlaid, encrusted, engraved, painted and finally gilded with real gold foils.
