Relindis Colomb
Gloria Colomb, also known as “Relindis”, her middle and artist name, started drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil.
Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to give in freely into her imagination as a graphic designer, interior designer, photographer, graphic illustrator, painter, manager, tourist guide writer, web designer and mother.
She is very much inspired by the garrigue’s1 fauna and flora.
From someone’s desire and with a few keywords, she is able to create painting tailored to the tastes of the requestor.
Like a novelist, Relindis adds, replaces or removes elements from her canvas’ plot. She does not know the outcome in advance.
Each feature calls for other traits, other touches and even more to give birth to these patchworks drawn from the observation of nature with a mixture of dreams and fantasy elements.
The white canvas draws her like a child asking, "tell me a story".
Then, spontaneously, the brushes start stroking the canvas and the colors start mixing gracefully as the work progresses towards its completion and the story takes shape.
No templates. Drawings with pencils or acrylics on canvas - stories in black and white or in colors - vivid or faded according to the mood or the weather.
The artist has created her own universe, maybe to escape a hostile world or to preserve her childlike soul!
