How do we define digital art in the context of this contest ?
Forms of Digital Art: According to wordIQ Dictionary & Encyclopedia Digital art is art created on a computer in digital (that is, binary) form. The term is usually reserved for art that has been non-trivially modified by the computer. Digital Art is a global term for a broad range of artistic practices and does not describe one specific form. Artists created, in some cases, works displaying distinctive characteristics of the digital, in other cases it is not easy to say whether they are a digitally created or not.
Digital art can be purely computer-generated Algorithmic Art, such as fractals, or taken from another source, such as a scanned photograph or an image drawn using vector graphics software, using either a mouse or graphics tablet. The availability and popularity of photograph manipulation and 3-D generative software has spawned a vast and creative library of highly modified images, many bearing little or no hint of the original image. Using electronic versions of brushes, filters and enlargers, these "Neographers" produce images unattainable through conventional photographic tools. In addition, digital artists may manipulate scanned drawings, paintings, collages or lithographs, as well as using any of the above-mentioned techniques in combination. Artists may also use many other sources of information and programmes to create their work. Another form of digital art - which we exclude from this exhibtion - is the three dimensional sculpture made possible with the invention of rapid prototyping, a process that actually "prints out" three-dimensional forms from computer generated models.
Submission of artwork: How submitting, how many pictures can be submitted? How many Megabytes can I upload?
Upload a maximum of 5 images as .JPG files. You can upload less, but not more! We recommend to upload a concept, bio and statement (optional). Upload jpg files unitl 10 MB.
Your works are ready ? So submit your contest gallery via the menu item MY COMPETITION to the contest. A submitted gallery is final and will be closed!
What styles will be accepted and considered?
We want to promote with this exhibtion modern technologies in the visual arts, so accepted art is photography & digital art (digital in a large sense - see above our defintion of digital art)!
What fees will be required to apply?
As you read above in our description of the competition and it’s awards – it’s a new formula we offer to the artists. We give a maximum of visibility and at the same time a maximum of promotion and marketing for a new product we create with the winning artist - a special collection "STATE OF CREATION" of which the winning entry is part, and we promote the whole collection as exhibtion as well as each picture for sale during the duration of the contract.
The submission of artworks is free, there are no shipment costs, there is an exhibition fee of 125.- Euros for the Fine Art print of your picture we do here for you. You will get a contract with us, we send you a certifcate about your participation in the exhibtion. This fee has to be paid after the winner has been selected. CULTUREINSIDE will promote the whole exhibition after its duration in Luxembourg, will try to move it to other spaces and promote your entry during one year by regular marketing activities. Should we not sell your work during two years, you will get it home. We think that is is an interesting formula we offer you, or?.
