Jean-Luc Georges Thebaud Biographie
I was born in Nantes (France). My father was an
Architect, I grew up surrounded by his work and
His Passion for Van Gogh, Picasso and
Degas.
In 1982 I moved to Paris and I had the chance to meet
the well-known film director Marcel Carne
(The Children of Paradise). He encouraged me and helped me
until his death to use my creativity to express
myself.
My pen and ink work is like a" search of the lost time
. I capture through the details of a door, a street, a
Monument or a Parisian scene the early European
Architecture of the 16-19 century.
In 1994, I moved to the USA .The chock between the old
and the new continent marks my transition to a new
medium. From the desert of Arizona, to the ocean of
Florida, I have been inspired to used oil paint and
deep and intense colors.
More lately the work of M.C Escher influenced me to
come back to my first love. In the "cube " I incorporate
the architecture to create a 3 dimensional geometric
drawing in black and white.
One of my last works "Megalopolis " is a perfect fusion
of my passions .I used ink and colors to express my
vision of the metallic ,flamboyant, glassy texture of
the big American cities.
I am until now still fascinated by mixing colors and
texture ..
Actualy working on triptych with acrylics,finish with a resine vernit.
