Geary Hoover - TitleThe Guardian of Burnside Bridge 

The Guardian of Burnside Bridge was taken in September of 2009 at Antietam Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland USA. The site of over 23,000 Civil War Soldiers that died in a single day.

Burnside Bridge was the site of a battle to defend the bridge from the opposing confederate army of Georgia.

12,000 men died at the site of Burnside Bridge that single day. in 1862.

The photo clearly shows the face of a man at the bottom of the center arch. The forehead, the eye browls the eyes, the nose, nostril, and lips are very distinct.

The photo is on display at Antietam Battlefield at the visitor center for all to see.

The now famous photo has been copyrighted and has been authenticated by a famous Digital Forensic Scientist at Dartmouth College.

Park personnel has claimed that the image under the bridge looks like President Abraham Lincoln. Where he was there just 2 days after the battle in 1862.
